SUPPORTING
ETHICAL SANCTUARIES

In 2018 Arte for Elephants started our

Big Elephant Magic Retreats to Thailand and Kenya. Ethical and humane travel supports both the local elephants AND people. Small group travel for compassionate souls provides income to local communities and helps create a cruelty free future for captive elephants

ARTE FOR ELEPHANTS
 ON THE ROAD

Since 2015,  Arte for Elephants has been on the road. Setting up our booth at art shows and selling art to raise money to support ethical elephant sanctuaries. A big part of our mission is to spread awareness and help educate the public on the challenges facing elephants in captivity around the world.

Look for an event near YOU!

ELEPHANT SANCTUARIES
A NEW WAY FORWARD

From Thailand to California, India and Brazil, a new way of caring for elephants is being born. Free from the saddle, the show, the work, elephants are allowed to roam free, to stay in natural family groups and to learn what it means to be an elephant again!

Captive Elephants and Us:

A legacy of greed, ignorance and cruelty

Elephant Riding is Cruel

Don't do it!

DON'T RIDE
ELEPHANTS
EVER!

10 Minutes of fun for you = a lifetime of misery for an elephant. From painful beatings with bull hooks to he infamous "crush box", which takes tiny baby elephants away from their mums and tortures them for weeks,  there is NO nice way to ride an elephant!

Elephants in Zoos:

A bad fit!

THE MORE YOU KNOW

It may surprise many people to learn that zoos, generally speaking, are not great places for elephants. As we learn more and more about these incredible creatures, it becomes ever clearer that limited space, solitary lives and lack of mental stimulation has a terrible impact on elephants.

Elephants are incredibly smart, emotional and complicated creatures, they need space, friendship and things to do to occupy their clever minds.

Elephant Artists? Performers?

Not Entertaining!

THE CRUELEST SHOW ON EARTH

Loaded in and out of trucks, beaten day in and day out to

perform cruel tricks to make money for unscrupulous people. The life of a circus animal is horribly cruel.

Thankfully MANY cities and whole countries are enacting laws to stop the use of exotic species in shows or circuses. Is your town on the list?
